19th Century Austrian Alpine Mountainous Landscape Oil Painting Depicting Lake & Boat

This is a magnificent large scale oil painting on canvas, the mountains in fabulous detail.

The painting is a unique one off work depicting majestic Lake at sunset within the stunningly picturesque Alpine region of Austria.

The location is Salzkammergut a region of Austria.

The area is about an hour''''s drive south east of Salzburg.

The truly beautiful image portrays the wonderful lake with a visiting family approaching the shoreline in a simple boat whilst enjoying the incredible scenery that surrounds them.

Surrounding the lake are tall snow-capped mountain peaks with waterfalls cascading down the many mountainous crags, with the sun lighting the peaks as the late afternoon sun begins to fall.

The artist has captured in immense detail the terrain and has given good details to the individuals in the boat.

Mounted within its original and exceptional mid nineteenth century pierced and scrolled wooden gilt frame.

CONDITION

Very good order for age after past conservation, light clean and revarnish.

The canvas has had an historic reline, there is normal craquelure and the frame has wear consistent with age.
