A small mahogany chest of drawers dating from the early 19th Century. It has a mahogany top and front with pine sides. There is an inlaid crossbanded border below the top edge and it stands on bracket feet. The drawers have brass escutcheons and small brass plate handles which, although aren''t original, suit the piece well.It is a good quality piece and it is in good condition for its age. The drawers open smoothly and are generally clean and tidy inside. There are some signs of age and use, some minor old marks and knocks, small shrinkage splits and some old repairs but nothing untoward and it is strong and sturdy with a beautiful patina.
