A lithograph is a printmaking process where an image is drawn onto limestone or a metal plate with a greasy medium, then inked and pressed onto paper.

Traditional lithography utilises limestone blocks, aluminium plates, oil-based printing inks, and specialised archival paper.

Authentication involves examining the print under magnification for dotless colour fields characteristic of lithographic ink application, along with checking for signatures, edition numbers, and paper watermark stamps.

Pair the framed artwork with minimalist furnishings to allow the graphic qualities to stand out, using neutral wall backdrops and simple metal or wooden frames.

Preservation requires framing with UV-protective glass, acid-free mats, and keeping the artwork away from direct sunlight and high humidity environments.
