Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A military campaign chest is a piece of furniture designed for military officers to dismantle and transport easily during field campaigns in the nineteenth century. These chests typically split into two portable sections and feature flush brass hardware to prevent damage during transit.

Campaign furniture was predominantly crafted from resilient hardwoods such as mahogany, teak, or camphor wood. High-stress points were reinforced with cast brass corner brackets, flush handles, and heavy iron or brass carrying handles on the sides.

Authentic nineteenth-century campaign chests typically exhibit hand-cut dovetail joints, flush-fitting brass straps, side carrying handles, and removable screw-in turned feet. They are constructed in two independent stacking sections to facilitate transport.

A campaign chest functions effectively as a focal storage piece in a hallway, bedroom, or home office. Its structured wooden framework and brass fittings pair well with leather seating, tailored textiles, and warm ambient lighting.

To preserve the timber, keep the chest positioned away from direct sunlight and artificial heat sources to avoid shrinkage or cracking. Apply a natural beeswax polish along the wood grain annually, and polish the brass fittings sparingly with a soft microfibre cloth.
