This George II revival lowboy side table dates from the 19th century and is made of warm brown walnut with brass hardware. The table measures 73 cm high, 73.5 cm wide and 42.2 cm deep. The piece has a figured top with feather banding inlay and a wide cross-banded edge, sitting above three oak-lined drawers with dovetailed construction, ovolo moulded edges and original drop handles. A shaped kneehole apron runs along the base, supported by slender cabriole legs that finish in pad feet. The wood displays a rich colour with minor signs of use, showing visible grain patterns and traditional joinery. In a modern interior, this sturdy side table provides a practical surface for everyday use. It fits well in a hallway beside the front door to hold keys and post, or functions as a compact side table in a living room or study. The timeless Georgian revival design suits traditional and country house room schemes, offering useful drawer storage while maintaining a light footprint against a wall.

A lowboy is an eighteenth-century table design featuring a series of drawers, a shaped kneehole apron, and slender legs. Revival pieces emulate the proportions, timber selections, and decorative detailing popular during the reign of King George II.

Traditional lowboys feature solid walnut or walnut veneers over pine or oak carcasses. Construction methods include dovetail drawer joints, crossbanded top borders, and cast brass drop handles.

Look for hand-cut dovetail joints on drawer linings, natural wood oxidisation, subtle irregularities in hand-carved legs, and historic wear around the brass drawer pulls.

A lowboy functions efficiently as an entryway console table, a compact bedroom dressing table, or an accent side table placed along a hallway or living room wall.

Dust surfaces regularly with a dry, soft cloth and apply a quality natural beeswax polish annually. Keep the furniture away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber movement and finish fading.
