London Architectural Views:

A superb original pair of early 19th-century hand-coloured engravings depicting two of Regency London’s most fashionable landmarks.

Crockford’s Club House, St James’s Street shows elegant horse-drawn carriages and promenading figures outside the exclusive gentlemen’s club founded by William Crockford in the 1820s.

Burlington Arcade, Piccadilly captures one of the city’s earliest shopping arcades, still admired today for its classical architecture and genteel atmosphere.

Both plates were published for Metropolitan Improvements; or London in the Nineteenth Century (1828–1831), a leading visual record of Georgian London combining Shepherd’s architectural accuracy with Tombleson’s fine line engraving.

Condition Report:

Both engravings are in very good condition for their age, with crisp impressions, strong original hand-colour, and only minor toning. Frames show light wear to corners but display beautifully. Ready to hang.
