Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

Antique pine chests of drawers were widely produced in Europe and Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries, often serving as functional, everyday storage furniture in domestic households before the mass production era.

These pieces are typically constructed from solid softwood timber such as Scots pine or yellow pine, featuring traditional joinery techniques like hand-cut dovetails on the drawer boxes and pegged frames.

Authenticity is identified through period-correct characteristics such as hand-sawn timber marks, uneven grain patterns, historical shrinkage cracks, iron or brass hardware, and hand-cut dovetail joints rather than modern mechanical fixings.

An antique pine chest brings warmth and texture to modern spaces and can be styled as a grounding focal point in a bedroom or hallway, often paired with minimalist decor to highlight its natural grain.

Preserve antique pine by keeping it away from direct heat sources and sunlight to prevent timber warping, dusting regularly with a dry cloth, and occasionally nourishing the wood with traditional beeswax.
