Description

A highly decorative early 20th century Chinese gilt metal figure of Buddha.

This highly decorative Buddha with gemset headdress and robe, lotus flower draped across the left arm, seated in dhyanasana, his right hand in ‘Abhaya’ mudra, a symbol of fearlessness, his left hand in ‘Prithvi’ mudra, a symbol of promoting healing and spiritual balance in the body, all supported on lotus base.

The ‘mudra’ is a sacred hand gesture used during meditation and the attainment of spiritual perfection.

This figure is in good condition for age and can go straight into a home.
