An elegant bronze sculpture, signed by Henri Pernot 1859-1937, Belgium artist and sculpture who moved to France and practiced in Paris, this being a typical circa 1900 bronze in the Belle Epoque era.

A charming seated boy upon a bell, an innocent portrayal of a young boy, a popular subject and style of the period, an androgynous young boy with excellent detail and crisp features, a well cast bronze sculpture by an established and reputable artist, Henri Pernot whose bronze sculptures are exhibited in museums, including the Paris Musée d’Orsay.

A collectible artist with many recorded sales, this being an enchanting example of delightful subject and crisp cast, highlighting gentle features and a timeworn patination which adds to its authenticity and character.

Originally a bell, no internal strike to the bell. A fine table top sculpture of great charm and decorative appeal. A convincing, fine quality bronze by an accomplished artist who operated during the Paris art movement of the late 19th to early 20th century.
