This sculpture captures the spirit of Art Deco glamour through the dynamic, streamlined form of a kneeling nude woman. Cast in dark bronze with a rich patina, the female figure reaches forward with one arm extended and the other trailing behind, her hair tied back in a classic period style. The sculpture is mounted on a rustic square timber base made of polished oak with visible wood grain, cracks, and a deep brown hue. Secured with an original retaining bolt, the bronze figure rests atop a textured mount that evokes natural rock or water. Measuring 31 cm high, this compact decorative object fits easily on a tabletop, shelf, or desk. It functions as a striking display piece in a home study, living room, or office, bringing early twentieth-century sculptural design into modern interiors.

FAQs

Car mascots emerged in the early twentieth century as radiator cap ornaments, evolving during the Art Deco era into sculptural art pieces that captured themes of speed, motion, and modernism.

These figures were typically produced using the lost-wax casting method, cast in bronze alloy, finished with chemical patination, and fitted with threaded studs for vehicle attachment or mounted onto bases for display.

Authentic period pieces exhibit crisp casting details, natural wear to the patina along raised surfaces, foundry marks or artist signatures, and appropriate historical weight.

Position the sculpture on an office desk, mantelpiece, or bookshelf alongside dark wood furniture, leather accessories, or period glassware to enhance a vintage aesthetic.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft lint-free cloth and apply a thin layer of neutral microcrystalline wax periodically to shield the patina from oxidisation and dust accumulation.
