Cesare Lapini: Born in Florence 1848, became one of the leading sculptors of his generation. His marble portrait busts, widely admired for the delicacy, refinement, technique, and the emotional quality with which he imbued in his figurative work, sold with great success in his gallery in Florence, to travelers on the Grand Tour, including the aristocracy and minor royalty.
