Description

Antique Criterion full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a Swiss 15-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed Criterion, a brand name registered by various watch makers and importers but this one is believed to be from Achille Hirsch of La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, who registered the name in 1897. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by Aaron Dennison, a prolific English watch case manufacturer who produced cases for various watch makers. The case general light surface marking, nothing serious at all.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
