Antique Waltham Full Hunter Pocket Watch, 1915

Description

Antique Waltham full hunter pocket watch, 1915.

The watch has a 7 jewel stem-winding movement, grade 610, which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 20,288,007 which dates it back to 1915. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has an indentation and some surface marking.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model from the Dennison Watch Case Company, supplier of cases to Waltham UK. The front cover has a couple of small “dings”, some unevenness to the back.

The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is an acrylic lens which is in good condition, some natural light reflection showing in the main photo.

The signed dial is in lovely condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute track.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.

A full hunter pocket watch features a hinged protective metal cover over the dial, which opens via a spring mechanism when the winder stem is pressed. This design originally served to protect the glass crystal from damage during outdoor pursuits.
