Cold-painted bronzes gained prominence in Vienna during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Foundry artists created small-scale cast sculptures, predominantly depicting animals, Orientalist figures, and naturalistic scenes, which were painted after casting rather than fired with enamel.
