An antique military campaign chest in two sections, made from solid mahogany with brass corners, inset handles, and flush-mounted escutcheons. English, circa 1850. The chest comprises two short drawers over three long drawers, all with oak linings and hand-cut dovetails. Designed for portability during military service, the piece separates into upper and lower halves with turned feet. The warm patina of the timber complements the original brass detailing, evoking the functional elegance of 19th-century officer’s quarters.
