FAQs

The Louis Philippe style, originating in 19th-century France, is characterised by understated elegance, clean lines, and a focus on rich wood veneers rather than heavy ornamentation.

These pieces typically feature solid oak or pine secondary woods, veneered with flame mahogany, and topped with thick slabs of polished marble, often grey or white.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints, traditional hand-rubbed French polish finishes, and solid marble tops without modern synthetic bonding.

It serves as a functional anchor in a bedroom or hallway, contrasting effectively against minimalist walls and contemporary abstract art.

Maintain the wood with high-quality beeswax and protect the marble surface from acidic liquids by using coasters and mats.
