For Sale by Artsonline
Description

c. 1850 Wonderful Dutch Delft Faience Polychrome Toby Jug - Pseudo mark APK

Brief Description:

This is a wonderful 18th-century-style Dutch Delft Polychrome Toby Jug modelled in the form of a seated Georgian Gentleman, who is wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a vibrant floral patterned jacket.

He is also holding a ceramic ale jug between his hands.

The beautifully presented piece is hand-painted in shades of yellows, greens, blues and browns.

The underside is marked APK, suggesting it comes from the factory of: A (Grieksche A) Pieter Kocx, (owner), Dutch, 1701-1722.
