Antique English Pewter Tobacco Jar with Presser, Acorn Finial, Circa 1830.

Description

A fine antique English pewter tobacco jar of cylindrical form with incised banding to the drum, and a double dome lid surmounted with an acorn finial.

The tobacco jar retains its original lead presser that was used to keep the tobacco moist.

The tobacco jar is in excellent condition with a polished silver grey finish and some slight traces of oxide, there are no repairs.

Circa 1830.
