A Victorian campaign barometer is a portable weather-measuring instrument specifically designed for travel, military campaigns, and field use during the 19th century, typically housed in a durable leather case.

These instruments typically feature brass bezels, glass dials, delicate internal aneroid mechanisms, and exterior cases crafted from leather with velvet or silk linings.

Authentic pieces exhibit period-appropriate typography on the dial, hand-engraved or stamped metalwork, traditional hinge construction on the leather case, and genuine patina consistent with age.

This piece can be displayed open on a study desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece to add a touch of historical interest and textural contrast to modern spaces.

Keep the instrument away from direct sunlight and high humidity, avoid using harsh chemical cleaners on the leather or brass, and gently dust with a dry microfibre cloth.
