A wonderful antique Heriz carpet, hand woven circa 1920. The design features a large, geometrical central medallion surrounded by stylised flowers and vines on a rich terracotta field. Some interesting design elements include the innermost border of interlocking triangles and the four little chickens in the corners. Great secondary colours of pinks, greens, golds and blues.
Size: 3.78m x 2.81m (12ft 5in x 9ft 3in)
This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, slightly heavier in a few small areas (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
