Roger Bradbury Antiques has dated these Equestrian Hunting Watercolour Paintings to the 1910s.
John Sanderson Wells studied at the Slade School of Art and Academic Julian.
He exhibited in London at the Royal Academy from 1895-1904, and he was later elected to the Royal Institute in 1903.
These paintings depict two traditional British countryside scenes, most likely captured in Leicestershire.
One painting highlights the huntsman, whips, hounds and followers in full cry, with exceptional detail to the movement of the horses and hounds. The other portrays the hunt on their return at the end of the day, equally as detailed, the pair painted with good strong colours.
Both paintings are signed, one in the bottom left hand corner and the other in the bottom right.
They are both in good condition, professionally framed (most likely the original frames) with fine washline mounts.
These watercolours have been a part of Roger's personal collection for over fifty years, now available for another field sports enthusiast to enjoy.
