This nineteenth-century Dutch Delftware ceramic Toby jug and vase takes the figural form of a man seated upon a mottled blue and white rock base. Modelled in tin-glazed earthenware with a blue and white palette, the piece displays hand-painted cobalt floral decoration across the jacket and hood, a tricorn hat spout, and a curved handle. The figure wears dark blue breeches and shoes, a ruffled collar, and a matching cap, while a painted maker mark appears on the base. The handle is broken in two places and reattached.
