Cotswold Oriental Rugs has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The drawing of both the major and minor guls is of an early form with a very open and spacious feel, the main guls are of a very large size. Note the double horned animal heads inside the main guls and the complete 'bow and arrow' to the minor gul; all signs of an early date.
Circa 1825 or earlier.
The weave is very fine and the torba has a velvet handle.
The torba is in original condition with very even wear and medium pile.
