A watercolour painting of considerable size by accomplished artist Henry Earp (1831-1914). The painting depicts a sun dappled countryside scene with horse and cart, flock of sheep, cattle standing in a pond, woodland, bridge over a stream against a background of distant hills. The painting shows off the artist’s exceptional skill at detail in watercolour, denoted by the varied colours and patterns in the cattle’s coats, and the delicate brushwork for the woodland and landscape. The painting is mounted behind glass in a double card mount, with several wash lines, within a more recent gilt frame. The painting is signed bottom right.
