Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Vanity Fair prints are colour caricatures published in the British weekly magazine Vanity Fair between 1868 and 1914. Many were created by Sir Leslie Ward, who signed his work under the pseudonym Spy, depicting notable politicians, military officers, and public figures.

These prints were produced using chromolithography, a multi-colour stone printing process that allowed for fine tonal gradation and rich pigments. They were printed on medium-weight rag paper and often issued with accompanying biographical text pages.

Original prints feature distinct chromolithographic gradations rather than modern half-tone printing dots. Authentic examples display original publisher inscriptions at the top or bottom margin and often bear artist signatures such as Spy or Ape.

Grouping multiple framed portrait prints together creates a structured gallery wall suitable for hallways, staircases, or home offices. Matching contemporary frames with neutral mounts allows the historical artwork to blend into both modern and traditional decor schemes.

Frame paper prints using acid-free mounting board and UV-protective glass to prevent discolouration and foxing over time. Display the artwork away from direct sunlight, radiators, and high-humidity areas to preserve paper integrity and pigments.
