An Edwardian pocket barometer set is a portable scientific instrument collection manufactured during the Edwardian era, typically featuring a compensated aneroid barometer, a magnetic compass, and a thermometer housed within a fitted leather or velvet-lined case.

These sets traditionally utilised brass or gilt-metal casings for the instruments, glass crystal faces, bone or enamel dials, and leather-covered wooden cases lined with silk, velvet, or satin.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-engraved dial markings, high-quality brass casting with natural ageing, maker signatures from reputable period opticians, and mechanical compensation features typical of early 20th-century craftsmanship.

This item can be displayed open on a desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece, acting as a focal point for a study or library space that celebrates historical and intellectual decor.

Keep the set out of direct sunlight to prevent fading of the velvet lining and yellowing of dials, avoid moisture to prevent brass tarnish, and handle the delicate mechanisms with clean hands.
