Edwardian design, spanning the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often lighter and more refined than heavy Victorian pieces, frequently incorporated delicate marquetry, satinwood stringing, and classical motifs.

These instruments typically featured a mahogany, walnut, or oak wooden chassis, enhanced with contrasting fruitwood or boxwood inlay, a brass bezel, and a bevelled glass face protecting the aneroid dial.

Authenticity is indicated by period-appropriate hand-lettered paper or metal dials, traditional screw fixings, genuine wood marquetry rather than printed decals, and signs of age-appropriate patina on the brass components.

Hanging this piece on a painted or panelled wall in a study, hallway, or living room adds historical texture and creates a striking focal point among contemporary furnishings.

Keep the instrument away from direct sunlight, extreme temperature fluctuations, and high humidity to protect the delicate internal linkages and preserve the polished wooden surface.
