Prometheus Antiques has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The work is not signed on the front but does retain the exhibition label on the reverse of the frame. Adele Martin is a little-known but successful portrait and flower painter who exhibited between 1922-1940 and lived in London. She exhibited at the Goupil Gallery, The Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool, The Royal Society of Portrait Painters, The Royal Institute of Oil Painters and eight times at The Royal Academy. The work is in excellent condition and is housed in the original frame. The whole is a great example of still life painting and is ready to hang. C.1930.
