Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A telescopic cocktail stirrer, also known as a swizzle stick, is a retractable bar tool designed to mix ingredients in a glass, often featuring an extension mechanism that collapses into a compact form for pocket or chatelaine wear.

Traditional swizzle sticks and cocktail stirrers from the late 19th and mid 20th centuries were frequently crafted from precious metals such as 9ct or 18ct gold, sterling silver, and occasionally incorporated base metals or decorative gemstones.

Authentic pieces typically feature clear hallmark stamps indicating metal purity, such as 375 for 9ct gold, alongside makers marks and sometimes date letters indicating the assay office and year of manufacture.

Such miniature items are frequently displayed inside a glass topped cabinet, mounted in a shadow box frame, or kept alongside a vintage bar cart as a decorative conversation piece.

Cleaning should be done gently using a soft microfibre cloth to avoid scratching the engine turned surface, avoiding harsh chemical dips unless verified by a professional conservator.
