We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Edwardian furniture, produced during the reign of King Edward VII from 1901 to 1910, often lighter in form and colour than Victorian pieces, frequently draws inspiration from earlier 18th-century Sheraton and Hepplewhite designs.

Craftsmen typically utilised solid mahogany, satinwood, and other imported tropical hardwoods, often enhanced with intricate marquetry, stringing, and brass hardware such as galleries and ring pulls.

Authentic pieces feature period-correct joinery such as hand-cut dovetails, traditional polishes like French polish or wax, maker stamps or paper labels, and natural ageing characteristics in the timber and brass.

Pairing historical wooden furniture with clean-walled modern spaces creates a balanced contrast; style the top surface with minimalist ceramic vases or modern lighting to bridge traditional and contemporary aesthetics.

Maintain timber condition by keeping pieces away from direct sunlight and heat sources, dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth, and applying high-quality beeswax periodically to nourish the wood.
