CIRCLE OF JOHN OPIE (1761 - 1807) PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN.

Fine 19th century portrait of young gentleman by an artist in the circle of John Opie (1761 - 1807)

The handsome and elegant young sitter is depicted half-length in from of a sky and cloud background and he wears the elegant attire of young gentleman of the period namely a black jacket and waistcoat and a white cravat. His hair is natural and windblown.

With his eyes cast downward as if lost in thought the attractive sitter is sebtsitvelky rendered, making this a most attractive evocation of childhood.

In a good state of conservation and ready to frame and enjoy this work may benefit from a light clean but presents very well as is.
