Description

Here we have a very rare North Wales primitive miniature chest of drawers c1800. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. There are remains of the original paint with wear to it in all the right places. The chest is of pegged construction and simple nails for the drawers. There is an over hanging top and three drawers below with what appears to be original brass handles. This well made little chest has panelled sides and a panelled back. It being made from thick pine probably the reason it has lasted this long. There is a lovely shaped frieze between the legs and this was probably a small spice chest of drawers. Charming folk art piece with provenance to Maentwrog North Wales.
