Accutron Astronaut l 71960 M3 with signed dial and has undergone a full in-depth documented service in 2023.

Dated 1963 and complete with original bracelet.

This is a great example of an early original Accutron Astronaut l 71960 M3

38mm stainless steel case with steel rotating bezel. Black dial with beautifully naturally aged hands and hour markers that have gone a wonderful creamy yellow colour over time which appears to be original as do the hands.

Replacement acrylic crystal added at recent service.

Fitted to original steel coffin link bracelet and folding clasp to fit a wrist snugly up to 7.5inches.

The Accutron Astronaut, introduced by Bulova in the early 1960s, is a significant timepiece in horological history. It was among the first watches to feature a tuning fork movement, offering unparalleled accuracy for its time. The model gained prominence through its association with the X-15 test pilots, who wore these watches during their high-speed, high-altitude flights. This watch and its movement have rightly got a place in history alongside the much more famous Omega Speedmaster 'Moonwatch'.
