A KPM porcelain plaque is a flat porcelain panel produced by the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Berlin, hand-painted by fine artists and kiln-fired to permanently fuse ceramic glazes to the surface.

Manufactured from hard-paste porcelain, the unglazed panels were painted with mineral-based enamel pigments and fired multiple times at high temperatures to achieve detailed depth and permanency.

Authentic pieces generally feature the impressed sceptre mark, the letters KPM, and dimensional measurements in inches impressed onto the reverse side of the porcelain slab prior to firing.
