Unusually this Vacheron Constantin 4961 has a black dial unlike most others from the era, it’s also accompanied in its original box and further an official extract from the Vacheron Constantin Archive dated from 2016 with the watch itself dated to 1955 as its year of manufacture.
32mm case size in 18ct yellow gold to match that of the buckle. The dial being black with gold coloured baton hour markers. Dial stamped ‘Vacheron Constant Geneve’. Fine working order this manual wind watch operates from a Caliber 1003 movement.
The movement housed in an Ultra-thin case which sits perfectly on the wrist, this style case and movement may well still be the thinnest there is.
Beautifully designed case with sweeping lugs fitted to a black leather strap.
Accompanied by that wonderful official record from Vacheron Constantin and the beautifully kept original box worth a considerable amount on its own.
Overall condition for a watch from the mid 50’s is excellent, will show some minor m
...arks and scratches consistent with its age but certainly nothing considerable and to our mind best left well alone.
