Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Early 20th century oil paintings often combined traditional academic techniques with emerging modern influences, focusing on light, atmosphere, and everyday rural or domestic scenes.

Authentic period pieces typically utilised hand-woven linen or cotton canvases stretched over wooden joinery frames, primed with gesso and painted using traditional linseed oil-based pigments.

Authentication involves examining the canvas weave for period characteristics, checking for natural ageing such as craquelure in the paint layer, inspecting the stretcher bars for age-related oxidation, and verifying signature styles against known period records.

Pairing a traditional pastoral artwork with contemporary minimalist decor creates a striking focal point, grounding neutral walls and adding historical depth and narrative texture to a contemporary room.

Preservation requires hanging paintings away from direct sunlight and heat sources, maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, and cleaning the surface strictly with a dry, soft microfibre brush or consulting a professional art conservator.
