Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The George II period spans from 1727 to 1760 and is characterised by a transition from heavy, architectural forms to lighter, more curvilinear designs, often utilising solid oak and mahogany with brass hardware.

These utility items were predominantly crafted from native timbers such as oak, elm, and fruitwood, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints, pegged construction, and brass batwing or drop-handle hardware.

Authenticity is determined by examining hand-planed surfaces, irregular tool marks, period-appropriate timber shrinkage, hand-forged iron or brass fixings, and construction methods consistent with 18th-century joinery.

An antique oak dresser functions effectively as a focal point in modern dining rooms or hallways, providing utilitarian surface space while contrasting against neutral walls and minimalist decor.

Preservation requires maintaining stable indoor humidity levels, avoiding direct sunlight, and periodically applying microcrystalline wax to nourish the timber without sealing the historic finish.
