In A Nutshell Antiques and Interiors has dated this piece to the 1930s.
It has unusual pale blue horse motifs on both sides of the rug, representing the horse heads of Persepolis.
It is a very good quality piece with a heavy weave. It is woollen and has been hand woven.
It is in very good condition for its age. There are some minor signs of age and use, some wear and slight fading in places but no major damages and it displays well with rich colours.
