Antique silver half hunter pocket watch, Glasgow 1917.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for Glasgow 1917 with a sponsor’s mark for James Weir, listed as a watch manufacturer, chronometer maker to the Admiralty, jeweller and silversmith with premises in Argyle Street and Buchanan Street, Glasgow. The case is in good condition, just some unevenness to the back of the watch.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside, there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The dial is in good condition, just one short hairline underneath the sub seconds dial, difficult to see with the naked eye. Blued steel hands, including the special half hunter hour hand so that the time can still be read when the front cover is closed.

The watch comes in a new presentation box.
