Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Maintain the surface by dusting with a soft, dry cloth and avoid harsh chemical polishes that strip away historical patination; a microcrystalline wax can be applied sparingly to protect the metal from further oxidisation.

These sculptural objects make striking desk accessories or shelf displays, mounted on small stands or exhibited alongside books and other metal artefacts to add historical character to a study or living space.

Authentic pieces usually exhibit period-appropriate weight, maker signatures or patent numbers cast into the base, genuine wear and oxidisation patterns, and fine hand-chased detailing rather than modern casting flaws.

Mascots from this era were typically produced using metals such as brass, bronze, chrome-plated white metal, or sometimes glass by makers like Lalique, often finished with patination or enamel details.

A car mascot, also known as a hood ornament or radiator cap, is a sculptural emblem mounted on the radiator cap of a motor vehicle, particularly popular during the early-to-mid 20th century for personalisation and brand identification.
