Frank Wood born locally in 1862 in Berwick upon Tweed, a naval officer and ships artist in his early life. He became a professional artist in 1899, moved to Portsmouth in 1906 to focus on painting ships. In 1903 he sold a painting to Kind Edward V11, as well as Queen Alexandria purchased his work.
