Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

FAQs

An aneroid barometer uses a flexible metal box (an aneroid cell) to measure atmospheric pressure without liquids, becoming widely popular during the Edwardian era for home weather forecasting.

These instruments typically featured turned wood outer cases made from mahogany or oak, polished brass bezels, bevelled glass lenses, and detailed paper or porcelain dial faces.

Authentic pieces generally exhibit period-specific typography on the dial, hand-engraved brass components, and traditional construction methods such as slotted brass screws and seasoned timber frames.

Mount the instrument as a focal point on a dark-painted wall in a study or hallway to contrast historical utility with contemporary minimalist or maximalist design schemes.

Keep the instrument away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations to protect the internal mechanical linkages and prevent the timber frame from warping.
