Military Elgin Pocket Watch, 1943

Description

Military Elgin pocket watch, 1943.

The watch has a 9-jewel stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is fully signed and it has the serial number 41971583 which dates it back to 1943.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is plated, there is some wear and marking commensurate with its age. Screw fitting bezel and case back. Military markings to the back of the watch.

The lens is in good condition, just very light marking, nothing too serious at all (some reflection showing in the photo).

The dial is in good condition, again with just light marking.

The watch comes in a period cardboard box from the US Treasury Department, Elgin National Watch Company, tatty but still good to have.
