Superb 19th.c French walnut and marble top commode chest of drawers c.1870. Beautiful inch-thick rouge marble top with a moulded edge. Over a chest of three long drawers. Solid walnut drawer fronts with attractive carved detail and original gilded brass handles and escutcheons. Chestnut drawer linings. Carved and moulded detail to the front corners and a shaped apron below the drawers with a large carved acanthus leaf at the centre. Carved acanthus to the front legs with a scroll detail to the feet. Walnut panels to the sides within a moulded surround. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
