FAQs

The original marble sculpture is a Hellenistic work created around 100 BC, rediscovered in Italy in the early seventeenth century and subsequently housed in the Villa Borghese in Rome.

These figures are typically produced using the traditional lost-wax casting method, resulting in a durable metal alloy that often receives a chemical patina.

Authentication involves examining the quality of the chasing work, the characteristics of the casting seams, the nature of the patina, and any foundry marks or signatures present on the base.

Position the piece on a desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece where its dark metallic finish and dynamic form can serve as a focal point against neutral backgrounds.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft, dry cloth and periodically apply a microcrystalline wax to protect the patina from moisture and handling oils.
