Antique Caucasian Carpet

1900 - 1920
Description

This attractive hand woven woollen carpet from the Caucasus dates from around 1900. The main colours are a lovely indigo blue and a coral shade with some characterful abrashing. The carpet has an unusual one way double lozenge design with some very interesting motifs including birds dogs and goats as well as stylised horses to the corners. This is finely woven with a low even pile and neat selvedges. A really lovely tribal carpet with great charm in nice original condition.

The carpet measures 203 cms by 112 cms and is in good ready to use condition.
