Gilt and Gesso has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
A fine quality English antique chest on stand circa 1730.
Each fitted with oak lined drawers with matching dovetail joints and original, complete set of hand chases brass handles, all with wire straps behind, evidence of an early example, probably George 1 to early George 11, TBV, early Georgian.

The 161cm tall chest on stand measures 96cm wide and 55cm deep, standing upon 4 cabriole legs and pad feet. Recently back from the workshop for some minor cosmetic conservation, very original and very ready to go.

Presented in mostly excellent condition with evidence of some timeworn wear in areas but really very nominal and a most excellent piece of English antique furniture, very stable, stands well and imminently useable as a daily household working furniture piece.
