Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Regency miniature portrait is a small-scale, highly detailed painting produced during the early nineteenth century, typically depicting an individual in period attire and mounted within a compact frame.

Artists traditionally used watercolours applied with fine delicate brushwork onto thin wafers of ivory, vellum, or card, which were then sealed under glass within brass rims and wooden mounts.

Authentic pieces from the early nineteenth century feature fine hatching or stippling techniques, period-correct costume details, original brass bezels, and backings often framed in ebonised wood or papier-mache.

Display smaller portrait miniatures grouped together on a gallery wall, mounted in narrow wall recesses, or leaned against books inside a dark wood cabinet or bookshelf.

Keep the portrait away from direct sunlight, extreme humidity, and heat sources to prevent cracking of organic substrates and fading of sensitive watercolour pigments.
