Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Metal beds gained popularity across Europe during the late 19th and early 20th centuries as industrial manufacturing made iron and brass working more accessible for domestic furniture production.

These pieces typically utilise tubular iron and forged metal components, often joined with mechanical fixings or early welding techniques, finished with protective painted coatings.

Authenticity is usually determined by weight, hand-forged joinery details, natural oxidation patterns beneath the paintwork, and period-specific casting marks on decorative mounts.

Pair the metallic structure with textured natural linens, neutral tones, and contrasting wooden furniture to balance industrial elements with domestic warmth.

Clean surfaces gently with a dry or slightly damp microfibre cloth, avoiding harsh chemical solvents that might damage the historical painted finish.
