This fabulous bed is brimming with detail, do see all the pictures, the flame mahogany wood has a beautiful patina and there is attractive ormolu detail across the whole bed, the head end features a roll top and lit bateau style curve an attractive central detail, with the sides being flanked by beautiful ormolu figures, florals, shells and faces. The foot end also has a roll top and showcases a spectacular display of ormolu inspired by Greco-Roman mythology which is fascinating in and of itself! Featuring the caduceus, symbolising commerce, negotiation, communication and eloquence, traditionally held by Hermes and Mercury. The foot end also features a chariot scene and putto/cherubs which represent love, mirth and peace. There are yet more delightful ormolu details on the side rails, a cornucopia symbolising abundance, wealth and prosperity, and again more floral and decorative ormolu details.
